SUBJECT: Combined Intensive Traffic Enforcement (CITE) Team
The Livermore Police Department is pleased to announce the creation of the Combined Intensive Traffic Enforcement (CITE) Team developed to provide additional personnel to effectively combat problem traffic areas requiring saturation type enforcement.
This program is a cooperative effort between the Livermore Police Department, Pleasanton Police Department, Dublin Police Department and the California Highway Patrol, Dublin Office. One day a month, for four hours, team members will deploy to a particular city. Each agency will host two months annually. The first CITE Team deployment will be on July 18, 2001, from 2:30-6:30 PM in Pleasanton.
These agencies are focused on improving traffic safety conditions within their Cities by increasing hazardous violation enforcement and the education of the public in all traffic safety issues. Motorists traveling through the Valley are reminded of the importance of driving responsibly.
The traffic unit welcomes your comments and suggestions on improving traffic conditions in our community. Please contact Livermore's traffic unit at the police department's website www.ci.livermore.ca.us or call us directly at 371-4856.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency.
