LivermorePolice Department's Bicycle Diversion Program

The Livermore Police Department has identified a serious problem involving juveniles who fail to obey the rules of the road while riding bicycles. In a statewide survey, involving bicyclist collisions, the City of Livermore is ranked ninth worst out of 83 cities of comparable size. It is imperative proactive measures be taken to educate our youth and appropriate enforcement action occur to reduce the number of collisions and injuries.

Our goal is to provide an alternative to the court process for youths recieving bicycle citations and in doing so, provide contact with law enforcement.
