ANIMAL CONTROL
Abuse, Cruelty and Neglect

Leaving your pet in a parked car can be a deadly mistake. On a warm day, the temperature in a car can reach 120 degrees in a matter of minutes-even with the windows partially open.

Your pet can quickly suffer brain damage or die from heatstroke when trapped in high temperatures.

If you see an animal in a car exhibiting any signs of heat stress (profuse salivating, confusion, extreme agitation, etc.), call the Livermore Police Department at 371-4900 immediately. Be sure to get an exact location and description of the vehicle and the license plate.

Pets are stolen from unattended cars. Sometimes by well meaning people or by someone wanting your pet. Taking your pet for a ride may seem like fun, but it can be very dangerous.
